Language Localization
Your course content can be written in any language you like. If you'd like to change the default language of the Heights Platform interface for your student experience, you can do so in your Account Settings.

What Languages is Heights Platform Available in?:
Heights currently supports 22 student-facing interface languages for most accounts, and some beta accounts may also see additional language options.
Available languages include:
- English
- Czech
- Danish
- Dutch
- Finnish
- French
- German
- Greek
- Hebrew
- Hungarian
- Indonesian
- Italian
- Japanese
- Khmer
- Norwegian
- Polish
- Portuguese (Brazilian)
- Romanian
- Russian
- Spanish
- Traditional Chinese
- Vietnamese
The language you set in your account settings will impact the logged-in student experience and your program login and registration.
There are two ways to change language settings in Heights Platform:
1. In your account settings, the language you set will act as an account-wide default language for all new students, and will impact both the student experience and your program login/registration.

2. While editing your profile, you or any of your students can choose a language that will override the default language for your platform that is active in your account settings. For example, you might set your default language to English in your account settings, but you might have a student who decides they feel more comfortable to use Spanish so they could select Spanish for their personal experience. You or your students can find this area by clicking the dropdown menu at the very top right of your program and choosing "Edit Profile".

Changing wording versus changing language
Changing the default language translates supported system interface text. If you want to rename terms inside the interface to better match your brand. For example, changing Course to Cohort or Path—that is handled through language customization rather than standard localization.
Heights includes a separate language customization area for replacing specific student-facing words and phrases, and Academy plan customers also have access to advanced language customization for additional interface areas.
If you are interested in helping test, or helping to provide translations for another language, please email support@heightsplatform.com and we can add you to our beta list.
